Overview |
ECM is an electronics device which keeps the engine operating optimally and safely under all environmental conditions with built-in software and tunable calibration data. Major market driving forces are stringent emission regulation including On-board Diagnostics (OBD), system integration with TCM or GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) Driver Module, beefed-up safety features and inter-communication demand between controllers.

Operation Principle |
ECM receives numerous input signals from not only sensors in and around engine but also other controllers to determine driver's intention and vehicle operating conditions.
These input signals are then interpreted and processed by micro-controller to command the optimal idle engine speed, fuel injection and spark timing, EGR rate, operation of aircon and cooling fan, and so on.
In order to produce the best engine performance while protecting the engine and minimizing exhaust emissions.
